As of yesterday, Ava knew 20 words (I counted).
Today, words #21 & 22:
"Juuuuuuuuuice" and "Orawee" (our friend Aurelie's name).
Very cute.

A few months ago, we realized that Jonah named his right hand.  Yes, you read that correctly, he named his right hand.  He was in the bathtub and had his hand in a small tupperware container that I use to rinse his hair.
"This is Mm Mm's hot tub!"
"Who's?"  I asked.
"Mm Mm's."
"Who's Mm Mm?"
He waved his right hand around.
Then, yesterday, he was playing with his Chevron truck (Pete Pickup) and boat.  The fingers from his right hand were in the boat.
"This is Mm Mm's boat."
Jon noticed his left hand was in the cab of the truck.
"Who's driving the truck?"  he asked.
"Mm Mm's brother!"
He should have named him "Uh huh."

Jonah is looking at pictures while I am working on the computer today. "Das you, Momma!"
I look over--it's a picture of my sister, April.
"No, that's Bepo!"
"Oh." then...
"I yike Bepo. She's a nice girl."
Jonah loves cars!  (I wonder who he inherited that from?)
At 3 1/2 he knows almost every make of car on the road.
We'll be driving along and all of a sudden :
"CHEVY TRUCK!!!!"
I almost have a heart-attack every time.
Last week he says to us, "I think we need a BMW."
Jon replied, "In your dreams, kid."

Louise (Nana) with Ava on the 4th of July at Blue Lake Posted by Hello
Tonight I heard Jon drive up (his truck is loud), so I yelled for the kids: "Daddy's home!" and we ran to the front door to watch him walk up.
Jonah started yelling, "Hi Daddy!"
Ava's screamed "Dadadadadada!"
After Jon greeted them, he walked through the already-open garage to enter the house. Meanwhile, I heard Jonah mutter something to himself.
"What was that, Jo?"
"I yuv him. I yuv my daddy."
Theology from a three-year-old:
"God made the clouds, Mom."
"Yep, He sure did, Jonah."
"And He made the stars and the trees. And He made Simon for me to be my friend. And He made the GMCs, too."

Itziar (Our Basque exchange-student) with Jonah! Posted by Hello
Jonah likes to say he's going to "hang onto" his friends instead of "hang out with."
This is what he said on the way home from the library:
"I'm going to hang onto Timmy-guy, Simon, Marcus, Aidan, Kaena, Mrs. Heidi, Daddy, Gamma, Jillian, and Pop-Pop!"
I guess he has the right idea!
