We go from moment to moment

These phrases happened back to back...
Jonah: Mom, what if Daddy did the cooking and we liked his cooking so much that we bowed down to him?
Mom: What does the Bible say about that, Joe?
Jonah: I think that we would go to Hell.
then...
Jonah: What if Jesus was so excited that we were going to Heaven that He yelled out, "Glory to the LORD!!"
then...
Jonah: There once was a little baby who BA BA BAAAAAAAAA!! Nee Nee NEEEEEE!!!!!!!!
Just when I thought we were getting serious.

Dozer Day

Jerry and Louise took Jonah and Ava to Dozer Day in Vancouver last weekend! They got to climb into the cab of a semi and honk the horn, and see lots of diggers and other construction equipment...as well as eat TONS of sugar! Sounds like fun to me!

Crystal Springs Rhodedendron Garden

I know I probably spelled Rhodedendron wrong, but hey, that's why, as Ava says, "we just call 'em Rhodys." :) Check out these pics from the first of our park days for summer.Ava had a little accident while trying to use the "toilet in the wild"--good thing we had her tutu in the bag for ballet class afterward...

Me with my good friend Tonya (we call her Tonners) :)
Ava (4) with Tonya's daughter Jolie (almost 4)
Brynne slept thru our first visit to the Rhody Garden

Brynne Brynne Brynne

She's getting bigger: 9lbs 6oz!
Almost daily someone will say, "Oh, look at the tiny little baby!"
And still a pound to go to get up to Jonah's birth weight...

Poor Baby

Is it horrible to think that Brynne (2.5 mos) sounds really cute now that she lost her voice (due to a cold) and sounds like a kitten when she cries?

Jameson Square

It actually got hot enough a couple of days ago to warrant a visit to our favorite little park in the Pearl District.

We love to walk and get dinner at Hot Lips Pizza, and there's even a cool new coffee shop that has a kids play area right on the square, too (how on earth it took so long for a coffee shop with a play area to open is beyond me! That's been my dream since we had Jonah)

More Conversations With Bepo...

Ava on the phone with Bepo (my sis April):
Bepo: What are you going to do today?
Ava: Look at The Boo (Our little nickname for Brynne)
Bepo: All day?
Ava: Yeah. (pause) She's cute.

Rated AAAARRRGGG?

I rented the kids The Swiss Family Robinson (the animated version) the other day. The bad guy is a pirate named Smythe (everyone say Aaaarrrrgghh!!) who sings this song about not sharing his treasure with anyone. Ava (missing the point that he has stolen the treasure) looked at me and said, "He won't get treasure in Heaven cuz he's not sharing."

A Walk in the Park

Yesterday the kids and I went for a walk in Laurelhurst Park with Bepo (my sister April). We were walking from her apartment and about to cross the road when a man in the apartments across the street came out of his building carrying a large trash bag. Ava points and yells, "Look, Mom! The garbage man!" Then she continued to point for several seconds while we (the man included) were all laughing.
Then in the park a police car was patrolling and came our way. I told the kids to wait for the "Cop Car". Ava yells, "Oh NO! The Po-lice!" and was very worried (I guess that they would haul her away??) until the policeman waved to the kids. Then she continued to skip down the path...
