The Making of an Ottoman

What do you do when you're Dutch and don't want to spend big bucks on an ottoman?
Make one.
As long as your husband has (or you have) a few tools, of course ;)
I bought an old ugly pine coffee table off Craigslist for $15, Jon resized the top and I sanded, primed, and painted the legs. I got some foam, batting, and a course linen from the fabric store, covered a few buttons, and we were off.

Fastening on the legs (or fitting), stapling the batting over the foam, underside of the tufting. (forgot to take a pic of the fabric going on--bad Elisabeth!)

That her Nana and Poppops are home for a week! Brynne got to go visit with them all by herself today while the big kids were at school and the Gooey guy stayed with Mama. She was very 'cited!

A Castley Cake

Bitty Baby Brynney turns Big

I cannot believe it. Say it isn't so.
Little itty bitty baby Brynney--our smallest, and yet perhaps most precocious of all--has now turned the old age of 4! This is the age Ava was when Brynne was born...and she seemed so big to me.
Brynne is a tender, sweet, exuberant little one and she fills our lives with joy (and yes, pain at times) but the pain makes the joy that much sweeter. Kinda like those salted chocolates I like...

Somebody Turned 34...

And it's not the cutie pies on the right!
Seriously had such a beautiful birthday. Jon and the kids spoiled me!
Went to Deschutes for dinner--my oh my I love their Abyss but alas, they were only in bottles...at $12/each! Settled for Obsidian on nitro instead and didn't look back. Their food is incredible too--everyone loved it and we had a nice fam time.
(Jon gave me a gorgeous necklace so Brynne wanted one of her own--she took the ribbon from the box and check her out)
