Jon (inner monologue): This is so sweet! I'm sitting here with Mario Andretti at the Champ Car Races, it's Father's Day, I got an Almindinger shirt for only ten bucks, and now I'm getting a signed photo!
Mario: Well, let's see, who should I make this out to?
Ron (Jon's assistant manager, who's taking the photo): Hey, Mr. Andretti, sir, where can I get one of those cool teeny tiny checkered hats? (scroll down...) 

Jon: Can you sign one for my son, Jonah? And how 'bout if you sign your vest for my dad, Jerry? He's a real big fan and a Chevron guy, too, I know he'd wear it a lot.  

Mario: Well, now you're really starting to tick me off, son. I think that's just too much to ask!

Ron: Can I just wear this for a sec? Gee, thanks!
Mario: Security, get these two out of here!
Ron: Jon take the picture, QUICK!

This is Jon impersonating Mr. Pacman on Father's Day (he's wearing his present--representative of the video game addicts my two "men" are).

Congratulations to my sister Jamie and her husband Adam, who're expecting their third little one in late January!
Also to my sister April who will be moving to Portland soon since she just beat out hundreds of applicants to land a job with Catholic Charities as a senior case manager, working with victims of human trafficking.
YIPPEE!!! (you should have heard me scream on the phone!)

One of the bummers of having our kids get older is that we can no longer spell things out which are just ideas to do for the evening. For example:
Jon: Hey, maybe we could R-I-D-E our B-I-K-E-S to get S-L-U-R-P-
Jonah: RIDE BIKES TO GET SLURPEES!!!!! YAY!!!!!

Jon and Jerry watching the Stanley Cup Playoffs outdoors (they call that camping??) at Tom and Betty's Prevost (somehow they keep thinking Jerry wants one) . . . finally, 4 very tired "kiddos" resting while watching Peter Pan--Ava got bonked wrestling and has a cold cloth on her head.
